Fundamentals of Real-Time Viable Particle Monitoring: How Does It Work?

Real-time viable particle monitoring instruments have been available for over five years. However, due in part to the lack of understanding of the technology used within instruments, implementation thus far has been limited.

TSI has developed a white paper explaining how Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) technology is used to detect viable particles in real-time. The white paper further goes on to explain how the BioTrak® Real-Time Viable Particle Counter has optimized this technology to increase measurement sensitivity and real-time reporting capability to greatly improve the ability to discriminate between viable and non-viable fluorescing particles—making the instrument suitable for use in aseptic environments.
